Pastor Takes Sermon Title, Points From Clickbait

Phoenix, AZ—Just two weeks ago, Bill Burns, pastor of One Hope Church was struck by the brilliant idea of taking his sermons from clickbait. While the new titles had nothing to do with the sermons, he felt that it would build interest and draw more attendees, and bring more opportunities to expound the gospel to unbelievers.

Pastor Burns explained to a reporter. "This is an ingenious idea. It's new, it's now and it sure is wow! It is just what people nowadays are looking for, and it's what I'm giving them. I expect a massive influx of up to 500 newcomers by the end of the month."

In hopes of luring more unsuspecting people to church, Burns posted several examples to the highly outdated church website.

  • This Adorable Dog Crossed The Street, SO Adorable, This Will Change Your Life Forever!

  • Look At What This Dad Gave to His Daughter For Her Birthday, Will Make You Cry

  • 8 Ways Trees Are Ruining Your Life, You Will NEVER Look At a Tree Again.

"These titles don't have anything to do with the gospel, so people will not be expecting to hear the good news when the come to Church. That is exactly how you get more people to attend."

As of press time, Burns is looking to overhaul the bulletins in a similar manner.
