Fabric Stores Run out of Denim, Homeschoolers Panic
Due to the rise of homeschooling in the area, local Fabric Stores have been unable to maintain sufficient stock of the denim homeschoolers need and love.
“The homeschoolers have been buying it by the tens of yards,” Fabric Store spokesperson Linda Penner said. “We can’t keep it on the shelves.”
The cause of this run on denim seems to be due to the large numbers of children in homeschooling families needing to be clothed in matching jumpers. Longtime homeschool Mom Christy Friesen was caught by surprise when her trip to the local Fabric Store proved to come too late. There was no denim left.
“I just looked at the empty shelves with just a strip of ragged jean material clinging to a screw and I knew the end had come,” said Friesen. “So when I got home we had a family meeting.”
The Friesen children had to attend the meeting in towels. The conclusion was that they would be put in public school until Mrs. Friesen could purchase enough matching denim to outfit them as homeschoolers again.
