BREAKING: Steve Demme Mobbed by Disgruntled Math-U-See Victims at Homeschool Conference
Prolific Math Curriculum author Steve Demme has had a bit of a hair-raising time today.
The trouble all started when Demme, the author of the Math-U-See Math curriculum popular among homeschoolers, walked up to speak at the Minnesota Homeschooling Conference. According to reports, no sooner had Demme given a few warm opening remarks when angry children and teenagers from all corners of the massive church building the conference was situated in ran to the front, eager to give Demme a piece of their mind.
Witnesses saw Demme quickly cry "help" before dashing to the nearest exit. However, a few large and angry teenage boys appeared seemingly out of nowhere and blocked the exits.
"We hate your math! We hate your math!" was the cry of the mob as they closed in on Demme. Thanks largely due to the "quiverfull" mentality so present among homeschoolers, the number of children was significantly larger than the number of parents, so the parents were helpless to stop the rampage. Math books hurled from every corner of the building towards Demme, who was cowering amidst the mob, unable to escape.
At publishing time, a Helicopter was sent to cut a hole in the roof and send a rope down to rescue Demme.
