Child Shunned by His Homeschooling Family After Going to School

RED DEER, AB—After Paul Dalton, 14, made the controversial decision to start going to school, his recognition in his family began to deteriorate. His parents prohibited him from taking part in meals, and for two months he survived on a diet of mice and gruel, which was all he could get. Recently, he was violently driven out of his house by his tormenting brothers and sisters, and ostracized from the family.

"I feel very hurt, both physically and emotionally," Paul told a reporter.

Paul is currently living on the streets, but is seeking a family to take him in.
