Former Homeschooler Accused of Cheating On Exam
Grade 10 student and former homeschooler Owen Mills was sent to Oak Hills High School due to his parents failing health and increasing inability to teach him. Now, at the end of his first semester and exams he has been accused by his teacher of cheating on his pre-calculus exam. His teacher explains that Owen’s mark of 84% is clear proof of cheating. “In all my ten years of teaching experience, I have never seen a mark above sixty percent, except by students who cheat, but they usually get around seventy percent anyway. This kid is undoubtedly cheating big time, and he won’t get away with it,” the pre-calculus teacher ranted. Owen on the other hand, complained of a bad mark. “In my ten years of schooling I have never got a mark as bad as this. I hope [to get] a better mark on my next exam.” The teacher intends to get the police and FBI involved and is resolved to prosecute the young student, and if possible, land him in jail. “We can not let the youth get away with cheating, disrespect to their elders, and evasion of jail time,” said the teacher. Owen and his parents strongly insist that the teacher is mistaken and say that Owen neither cheated nor disrespected anyone. The incident will likely go to court.
