Homeschool Child Thinks Cookies are Math

14-year-old homeschooler Madison Jennings has finally realized that the proper name for his math lessons is “cookies”. Starting when he was four years old, his mother would say to him,
“Okay, Madison, time for some math,” and they would spend some time to bake cookies in the shape of numbers and then do problems with them. When his father came home in the evening Madison would show him his math, and the whole family enjoyed eating the math together. Madison thought math was the best thing in the world.
Mrs. Jennings was struggling with humility when other homeschool moms would complain and she was always able to say that her son loved math.
“I was so proud of myself that I really needed a few humble pills - only I couldn't find any,” she said.
Today, however, he learned that what he loved was cookies, and that there are other ways of doing math.
“He was actually quite happy,” Mrs. Jennings said. “He told me that math had always seemed unnecessary, and now he understood that cookies can be made and eaten without math. I just told him to go ahead and try making cookies without any math.”
The last thing we heard from the Jennings household was Madison exclaiming,
“Wow, we really need math!”
