A teenager who embraces Complementarianism - the teaching that men and women have different roles in their relationship to one another - has decided to no longer accept friend requests from girls.
"Men are supposed to initiate, while the women respond", argued 18-year old Mike Carter. "Thus, when a women sends a man a Facebook Friend Request, she is clearly violating her God-given role of responding rather than initiating."
According to sources, Carter's statement clarifies a lot of things for those girls who sent him friend requests, only to have their requests deleted and have him send them friend requests.
Some people are skeptical about Carter's extreme views. "I agree with him ... but I think he has taken his zeal a bit too far", remarked his pastor. "He is sincere, but immature", added his 20-year old brother, Luke.
At publishing time, Carter indicated that he was questioning whether he should allow women to go before him at four way stops.
